Objectives: Hand hygiene is essential for infection prevention. In Piedmont (Northwest Italy), hand hygiene is routinely monitored through 2 surveillance systems, the World Health Organization Hand Hygiene Self-Assessment Framework (HHSAF) and alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) consumption.
